WWE Slates John Cena, CM Punk for Summerslam, Tease for HHH-Punk Feud

WWE made official what everyone in wrestling knew was the case after last week–John Cena and CM Punk will have a WWE Championship unification match at Summerslam.

The match was confirmed by “WWE COO” Triple H on RAW, who declared that both had a legitimate claim to the championship.

Earlier in the night, WWE teased an eventual feud between CM Punk and Triple H, which sources say was originally slated for as early as Summerslam. Triple H acknowledged his distaste for Punk, who then cut a promo on Triple H’s misuse of backstage influence and burial of WWE Superstars while in bed with his wife. Punk taunted Triple H, who said he would love to fight Punk but instead has to honor his role as a WWE authority figure.

Later in the show, HHH had a heated interaction with Cena over the title situation, noting that John had no business calling his “boss” “Hunter.”
