Latest News on Whether Top WWE RAW Name is Turning Babyface

While the prevailing assumption is that WWE Superstar The Miz will eventually go babyface, sources say that his portrayal at Money in the Bank and last week’s RAW should not hint at an imminent turn.

According to F4WOnline.com, WWE sources say few internally even realized the booking for those two shows would make Miz appear to be a babyface, resulting in surprise when online commenters speculated on an upcoming face turn.

Should crowds consistently opt to side with Miz, it is possible WWE could rush the heel turn, but sources maintain it is definitely not in the near-term plans.

At last week’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Miz left the RAW ladder match with a leg injury that announcer Jerry Lawler worked hard to sell as legit. He later returned to ringside with an attempt to capture the briefcase, but because he sold the knee injury on the run back to the ring, it came across more like a babyface’s valiant effort to win the match than it did a heel trying to “steal” the briefcase.

Then, on RAW, Miz continued to sell the injury when beating two Superstars to advance to the finals of the WWE title tournament. This, again, came across like Miz “overcoming the odds” (babyface 101 booking).
