WWE Wrestler Written Out at Money in Bank, Suspended for Wellness Violation

While it might have wanted to write him out of the latter portions of the match anyway, WWE’s injury angle in the SmackDown! Money in the Bank match was not merely a storytelling device.

WWE confirmed Monday that Sin Cara has been suspended for his first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy. He will miss thirty days of ring time while on suspension.

No further details on the failure were available at press time.

During the opening match on Sunday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, WWE stretchered Sin Cara out of the ringside area after Sheamus powerbombed him through a ladder. He did not return later in the match, and it appears the injury was used to “write him out” of near-term storylines.

Sin Cara, who debuted this year for WWE, has been treated as a high priority from a booking standpoint. He has also been billed as the first product of WWE’s new talent development program, which is led by Triple H.
