Kathy Bates Gets Emmy Nomination for “Harry’s Law,” “The Killing” Scores Nods

Her freshman dramedy “Harry’s Law” did not make the cut for an Outstanding Series Emmy, but Kathy Bates could not help but win a chance to compete for the Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Emmy for her work on the NBC series.

Always a tricky race, this year’s Lead Actress category does not feature Kyra Sedgwick, the previous year’s winner. It does, however, include high-profile contenders like Julianna Marguiles (“The Good Wife”), Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”), Elisabeth Moss (“Mad Men”), Mariska Hargitay (“Law & Order: SVU”) and “The Killing” newcomer Mireille Enos.

On the supporting front, 2010 winner Archie Panjabi (“The Good Wife”) returns to face Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men”), Kelly MacDonald (“Boardwalk Empire”), Christine Baranski (“The Good Wife”), Michelle Forbes (“The Killing”) and Margo Martindale (“Justified”).

The lead actor race includes nominees Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”), Steve Buscemi (“Boardwalk Empire”), Kyle Chandler (“Friday Night Lights”), Michael C. Hall (“Dexter”), Hugh Laurie (“House”) and Timothy Olyphant (“Justified”).

Supporting actor nominees are Andre Braugher (“Men of a Certain Age”), John Slattery (“Mad Men”), Alan Cumming (“The Good Wife”), Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”), Josh Charles (“The Good Wife”) and Walton Goggins (“Justified”).
