“CSI” Reveals Its Replacement Lead For Next Season

News came Tuesday that CBS’ veteran procedural “CSI” has tapped Ted Danson as its new leading male.

Danson will replace Laurence Fishburne, who departs after two-and-a-half seasons.

During Fishburne’s tenure as the replacement for original star William Petersen, ratings fell and the show’s buzz greatly declined, although it is hard to determine whether that was due specifically to the lack of Petersen or simply due to the series’ age.

Danson begins his run on “CSI” in the twelfth season premiere, set for the new Wednesday at 10PM timeslot on September 21.
