WWE Says Voting Result on Monday’s RAW Was a “Sham”

Amid surprise that WWE’s fans voted for Mason Ryan, rather than the obvious choice of Sin Cara, to face Evan Bourne on Monday’s “Power to the People” edition of RAW, WWE.com confirmed that a technical glitch produced the surprise result.

Under the website headline, “Sham Vote Screws Sin Cara,” the company issued the statement, “WWE apologizes to the WWE Universe, Raw’s “Power to the People” voters, and especially Sin Cara and Evan Bourne. The match vote was inaccurate due to a heavy backlog of votes from the Divas Title Match. More details on WWE.com throughout the day.”

While the story certainly makes sense–after all, Mason Ryan did seem like a very unusual selection–the extent to which WWE might be trying to “cover” for Sin Cara, who it clearly wanted fans to select, not getting a desired level of votes.

A reveal of the true voting for the match with Evan Bourne would provide more clarity.
