Pauly D is no longer the only “Jersey Shore” cast member with a spin-off on MTV–the network greenlit a second spin-off series featuring Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley.
Effectively best friends on the original “Shore” series, Snooki and JWoww make sense as a pairing for the spin-off. In fact, based on the official write-up, it is unclear, beyond the locale, how the action on the show will differ from their antics on “Jersey Shore.” The release notes, “Always inseparable and ready to get the party started at the shore, viewers will get to see how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over in this 12-episode series.”
Pauly D’s project, as noted, will undoubtedly include “Jersey Shore” elements but is ultimately built around his life as a DJ. That show, too, was picked up for twelve episodes.
The fourth season of “Jersey Shore,” set for filming in Italy, remains in MTV’s plans, although production on the season was reportedly delayed. With cast demand issues apparently at least partly responsible for the delay, Deadline speculates that the new spin-off series might be deal sweeteners to help get the cast on board for the phenomenon’s fourth season.
