“Glee” Brings Back Lady Gaga to Go Head-to-Head with “The Voice”

Seemingly looking to win in the head-to-head battle with NBC’s new “American Idol” and “The X-Factor” competitor “The Voice,” FOX will air another Lady Gaga-themed “Glee” on April 26.

Billed as an extended episode that will run from 8PM-9:30PM, the “Glee” episode will cut into the first thirty minutes of the new NBC singing series. Entitled “Born This Way,” the episode will see the New Directions perform the new Gaga single as they learn “a valuable lesson about self-acceptance and embracing what makes you unique.”

The similarities to last year’s “Theatricality,” which was also built around Lady Gaga’s music, are beyond obvious. That episode, which featured a group rendition of “Bad Romance” and a stirring, piano-driven cover of “Poker Face,” also focused on themes of uniqueness and self-acceptance.

FOX’s full description of “Born This Way” – In the “Born This Way” episode, MR. SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison) teaches the Glee club a valuable lesson about self-acceptance and embracing what makes you unique through the music of Lady Gaga. Meanwhile, LAUREN ZIZES (guest star Ashley Fink) and QUINN FABRAY (Dianna Agron) go toe-to-toe for the prom queen crown, MS. PILLSBURY (Jayma Mays) confronts her obsessive issues, RACHEL BERRY (Lea Michele) struggles with a life-altering decision and SANTANA LOPEZ (Naya Rivera) has something up her sleeve that could permanently alter the Glee club dynamic.
