“American Idol” Confirms Rock Theme, Guest Performer For Next Week

FOX’s press release announcing the current week’s theme as ’80s night proved to be wrong (it ended up being a theme dedicated to the songs of Elton John), but assuming such a miscommunication will not happen two weeks in a row, viewers can anticipate songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on next week’s “American Idol.”

The Rock and Roll Hall theme was announced as the focus for the top nine contestants, who take the “Idol” stage next Wednesday. Famed guitarist Jeff Beck will accompany the Idols as he provides instrumentals with Ray Chew and the “American Idol” band.

“Idol” season four finalist Constantine Maroulis will be the guest performer on Thursday’s results show. A popular contestant during his stint on the show, his recent claim to fame has been success on Broadway with “Rock of Ages.”
