Although Vickie Guerrero seems to be the natural booking selection for the guest referee in the Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler WWE WrestleMania 27 match, sources indicate that the company is going in a different direction.
According to a leaked card for the show, WWE has scheduled “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to emerge as Michael Cole’s selection for the referee gig. Austin’s ‘Mania involvement is expected to be confirmed during his appearance on RAW this Monday.
There is no current word on how WWE arrives at the Steve Austin announcement, which seems counterintuitive given the fact that Cole is a heel and Austin is a babyface.
