Adele’s “21” Album Sales Tracking For Massive Opening Week

Adele, a Grammy winner for Best New Artist, will not be fading into American obscurity.

“21,” the follow-up to the English singer-songwriter’s breakthrough “19,” is pacing for a massive opening sales week. Based on single day sales of 150,000, the album looks set for an opening week total of at least 275-300,000, according to the latest forecast from Hits Daily Double.

The album could eclipse that number if the artist picks up late buzz from her string of upcoming talk show appearances.

With no other major releases this week, “21” will easily lead the Billboard 200 chart.
