FOX Hypes “The X-Factor” with Simon Cowell, Christina Aguilera Botches Lyrics

Though it consistently posts weaker numbers on Thursday, “American Idol”‘s Wednesday ratings have held up reasonably well sans Simon Cowell, and the debut of his imported “The X-Factor” might not be as dire for FOX as once expected.

Still, with the vocal judge who made “American Idol” so famous at the core, FOX is pretty sure it has a fall hit on its hands, and it escalated the hype during Sunday’s Super Bowl (and later during the post-game edition of “Glee”). Headline Planet has the ads below:

— On the subject of musical issues at the Super Bowl, National Anthem performer Christina Aguilera notably botched the lyrics during her run-heavy presentation, including delivering the phrase, “what so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.” That is not a lyric from the song, and instead appears to be a juxtaposition of “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming” and “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming.”
