CBS announced Thursday that pop star Katy Perry has landed a guest starring role on an upcoming episode of “How I Met Your Mother.”
Set for an episode entitled “Oh Honey,” Perry will play Zoey’s (Jennifer Morrison) beautiful, naive cousin who earns the nickname “Honey” from the principal characters. Her character represents a possible love interest for Ted.
“Katy is a tremendous talent and we are delighted to be able to work with her,” says co-creator Carter Bays.
Guest appearances from pop stars are nothing new for “How I Met Your Mother,” which parlayed a pair of season three appearances from Britney Spears into a buzz resurgence. Carrie Underwood, Enrique Iglesias and Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger have also guested on the series.
