Backstage News, Spoiler on Wade Barrett’s WWE Status

WWE made it clear at the conclusion of Monday’s RAW that Wade Barrett was officially out of Nexus. The heel faction will, going forward, be run by CM Punk, who brings star power and a fresh character to the mix.

But what does that mean for Barrett, who won season one of NXT and has been pushed at the main-event level since the summer of 2010?

Based on spoiler reports for this week’s episode, Barrett will be moving permanently to SmackDown! The wrestler makes his debut on the show this week, and according to PWInsider.com, it is possible there will not even be a follow-up angle involving Barrett and Nexus on RAW Monday.

Barrett will remain near the top of the card, with sources maintaining that he, along with Kane, is at least being discussed as a potential WrestleMania opponent for Undertaker in the event that a high-level crossover angle cannot be arranged.
