Georges St. Pierre Surges On Twitter Following UFC 124 Win over Koscheck

Despite the high-profile nature of its main event, there had been some concern about the level of online attention given to UFC 124: St. Pierre vs. Koscheck. The lack of big names on the undercard appeared to weigh interest down, and some were wondering if the show could live up to its lofty buyrate expectations.

While the answer to that question will not be revealed for a few weeks, late-night Internet trending at least reveals that people cared about the main-event. “GSP” is currently the top global trending topic on Twitter as users discuss Georges St. Pierre’s dominant decision victory over Josh Koscheck.

UFC 124 currently clocks in at number two, while Koscheck is listed at number five. The three terms are easily eclipsing interest in Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton.

Searches for the main-event fighters will need a few hours to resonate on Google Trends, but as of press time, UFC 124 Results was listed as the fourth most popular search term.
