Billy Ray Responds to Miley Cyrus’ Salvia Bong Hit Video, Says He’s “Sad”

Billy Ray Cyrus weighed in on a TMZ video depicting daughter Miley taking hits from a bong, noting that he is “so sad.”

In a Twitter post, the country music artist noted that he had “no idea” the bong incident had taken place, explaining he, “just saw for the first time myself. He added, “There is much beyond my control right now.”

TMZ’s sources contend that the substance in the bong was salvia–not marijuana–a purported hallucinogenic that is legal in California. The video was reportedly taken five days after her eighteenth birthday.

Over the past several years, a number of YouTube video have featuring supposed “salvia trips” gone bad. In the video, Miley questions whether she is “tripping” after seeing someone who looks like on-again, off-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

Later, while still discussing the Liam comparison, she breaks into hysterics.

Sources say the video was stolen or copied from her friend’s camera.
