Miley Cyrus Looks Great but Sounds Terrible at American Music Awards, Avril Lavigne Appears

The sound of Miley Cyrus’ performance at the 2010 American Music Awards was a near perfect contrast to the glamor of her appearance on the red carpet.

Miley turned heads in an early set of arrival photos from the show, looking leggy and pretty in a white dress. Her rendition of “Forgiveness and Love,” however, was widely panned–the dark performance came across as bland, lacking the energy of her more successful live performances. She also struggled from a vocal perspective, turning in one of the more screechy and off-key televised performances of her young career.

Also on the red carpet: Avril Lavigne. More red carpet glimpses are forthcoming.
