AMC Cancels Low-Rated “Rubicon” After One Season

Backed by an intriguing premise and the network that launched critical darlings “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad,” AMC’s “Rubicon” definitely had a lot in its favor when it premiered this summer.

Unfortunately, things never truly clicked for the series, and it recently received news of its cancellation.

Though the show was popular in some critical circles, its acclaim was nowhere near that of the aforementioned dramas. More importantly, its viewership quickly diminished, particularly with the all-important young adult crowd, and it could just not become a staple of the cable network’s schedule.

From the network’s statement: “Rubicon gave us an opportunity to tell a rich and compelling story, and we’re proud of the series. This was not an easy decision, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a phenomenally talented and dedicated team.”
