UFC Fighter Wants To Join WWE?, Vince McMahon Behind Daniel Bryan

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Vince McMahon is the major creative force behind Bryan “Daniel Bryan” Danielson’s portrayal as a geeky, yet likable United States Champion. While Michael Cole has undoubtedly improvised some of the “burial” on commentary, sources say many of his lines come directly from Vince McMahon, who fully supports how the company is building the character.

— The Observer also notes this week that representatives for a “fairly major UFC name” have conveyed the fighter’s interest in working with WWE once his mixed martial arts contract expires. The identity of the fighter was undisclosed in the report, but the story teases it is someone with no pro wrestling experience who is “one of the last people you’d expect.”
