Cain Velasquez Scores Best KO For Win Over Brock Lesnar at UFC 121

UFC President Dana White confirmed that Cain Velasquez scored the knockout of the night victory for his win over Brock Lesnar at UFC 121.

Velasquez’s ground-and-pound offensive against Brock Lesnar played out similarly to the beatdown Shane Carwin delivered at UFC 116. What differed, however, was the fact that Velasquez approached the assault with more precision. More importantly, he did not gas out, and the beating was simply too much for the referee to allow. A stoppage was declared in the final minute of the first round.

Other bonus winners included Daniel Roberts for submission of the night and Diego Sanchez and Paulo Thiago for their fight of the night. All bonus winners received $70,000.
