Dan Hardy, Carlos Condit Look For Big KO Victory at UFC 120; Results

Though Georges St. Pierre had little trouble running through Dan Hardy in their UFC 111 matchup, it is not as if Hardy had failed to prove his competency against several talent UFC welterweights in the bouts prior. He hoped to restore his perception of serious talent with a rebound victory at UFC 120.

Standing in the way of a celebration in his home victory was former WEC champion Carlos Condit, whose skills make him a tough test for almost all members of the 170 pound class.

Would the heavy-handed Dan Hardy score a knockout victory? Or, would the dangerous Condit rain on Hardy’s hometown parade?

The results follow:

Carlos Condit b. Dan Hardy via knockout (punches) at 4:27 of Round One
*Story of the fight: The simple story is that Carlos Condit beat Dan Hardy at his own game. He stood with Hardy for the entirety of the first round, and he did not look out of place. Just as Hardy appeared to be finding some rhythm with a left hook, Carlos perfectly timed a left hook of his own, and his faster, more powerful shot put Hardy down. Condit followed up with two punches as the referee halted the competition.
