NBC Cancels Jimmy Smits’ “Outlaw”

Add another casualty to the fall television schedule. NBC has officially canceled the low-rated “Outlaw.”

The show’s most recent Friday telecast scored a mere 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 4.096 million viewers. That performance made cancellation seem inevitable, and the expected news came Monday. The plan is for the network to burn off the remaining episodes on Saturdays.

The weekly “Dateline” will be extended to fill the show’s Friday at 10PM timeslot.

  1. I can’t believe that Outlaw is canceled! Give it a chance. Smits is good. Some of his supporting cast is weak and annoying, meaning the brunette investigator, but this is a good show and I wait for it every Friday. I hope another network picks up this neat show. This isn’t fair Jimmy.

  2. Another good show cancelled……here we go again…. What are you going to do..bring in another reality show? How disappointing. Outlaw is one of the better new shows.

  3. I am 64 & my family (3 including me: ages 64 – 68) really liked “Outlaw”. Can another network pick up this series if NBC is stupid enough to cancel it? I am new to internet (less than 1 year) & don’t really know who else to contact.

  4. Whenever a good show comes on it gets cancelled. Instead of cancelling try moving it to say Thursday which has crap on. I think the programmers should give their head a shake. Of course being next to Blue Bloods all would be watching this, so Outlaw never had a chance.

  5. Outlaw wasn’t given a chance. This was my favorite of all the new shows. I just don’t understand NBC. Given a chance I believe this show would have outlasted Blue Bloods. Blue Bloods is the same every week and not such good stories. Hope Outlaw comes back.

  6. It is certainly a case of “Pearls before Swine”. It is so sad to see that many people today have lost the capacity to understand a fine work such as the amazing TV serial ‘Outlaw’. Shame on you, NBC, for axing the show! This was one of the best things on TV since ‘The Practice’.

  7. Excellent goods from you, man. I have understand your stuff previous to and you’re just too magnificent. I really like what you’ve acquired here, certainly like what you are saying and the way in which you say it. You make it entertaining and you still care for to keep it wise. I cant wait to read much more from you. This is actually a great site.
