Although sources say WWE wants to deliberately bolster the SmackDown! roster to improve ratings now that it has officially made a home in SyFy, it was suggested that RAW Superstar Edge was sent to the brand as part of a trade (rather than as a ‘freebie’).
The word going around is that CM Punk will be shipped to RAW in exchange for Edge. Backstage reports to that effect have been bolstered by new house show lineups, which list Punk as working with R-Truth on the road.
Edge’s relocation to SmackDown, announced on Monday’s RAW, had been expected for several weeks. Some, however, thought WWE might offer up Edge as some sort of “victory draft pick” at Bragging Rights.
