Justin Bieber Set To Host Remake of MTV’s “Punk’d”

A multitude of sources reported Tuesday that MTV is working on a revival of “Punk’d” series with teen heartthrob Justin Bieber as host.

The singer has established himself a pop culture force over the past year, and the deal, in its final stages, would assure he remains visible for MTV’s teen and young adult targets. Deadline adds that if everything goes through as expected, production would likely allow the show to premiere next year.

Ashton Kutcher, who created and hosted the original installment, would return as an executive producer with Jason Goldberg. Kutcher officially ended the show in 2007, but there had long been speculation about a revival.

After breaking through musically, Bieber recently parlayed his fame into television roles, which have included appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and “CSI.”
