Paramore’s Hayley Williams Puts Over “Glee”‘s “The Only Exception”

Tuesday’s “Glee” made no attempt to hide its standing as a Britney Spears tribute episode, but while the various Britney Spears covers indeed made waves among the show’s massive fanbase, one of the highlight numbers was interestingly not a Britney Spears song.

Following last week’s superb “What I Did for Love,” Lea Michele’s Rachel performed yet another show-closing solo; this time, it was a cover of Paramore’s recent hit “The Only Exception.”

Though it was far from Michele’s most beloved performance on the show, the actress has nonetheless drawn solid feedback from “Glee” fans. Perhaps more importantly, she caught the attention of Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams, who put over the performance on her Twitter.

Her stream included:
Holy exception!!! Dear everyone on Glee – you rocked the our song! @msleamichele your voice was sick!! I love your version more haha!
Seriously on cloud 9 after hearing our song on Glee. Pick up their version of “The Only Exception” on iTunes! So humbled by all of this.
YAY!! I’m smiling so big & dumb right now! RT @Ryanneisyours: @yelyahwilliams hey the only exception is trending right now! Heckkk yes(:

  1. the “Watching Glee for the first time just to watch the Paramore – The Only Exception part. :)” part was a retweet…

  2. Lea got the song to number #2 on itunes so yea it is up there. In fact it was the best song of the night.

Lea can sing and have proven it over and over again.
