Green Day Singer Joins “American Idiot” Broadway Show

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is set to join the cast of “American Idiot,” the musical he composed and co-wrote based on his band’s music, notably the 2004 concept album of the same name.

Armstrong will temporarily replace Tony Vincent as St. Jimmy beginning with the September 28 performance. The rocker will appear in the musical until October 3, at which point he and his other Green Day peers will leave for a South American tour.

Vincent, himself, returns from a personal family matter on October 12.
