Zac Brown Band, Maroon 5 Battle for Album Sales Chart Lead

A week after a tight sales race between albums from Linkin Park and Trey Songz comes another heated battle for number one. Vying for the top spot on next week’s album sales charts will be Zac Brown Band’s “You Get What You Give” and Maroon 5’s “Hands all Over.”

Based on one day sales data, Hits Daily Double presently forecasts the Zac Brown effort to rank slightly higher. Current projects see “You Get What You Give” moving about 145-155,000 units in its first week, compared to 140-150,000 for the Maroon 5 album. The digital sales strength of “You Get What You Give” is noteworthy for an act in the genre.

Lacking a true hit lead single, the new Maroon 5 album’s opening sales week will fall greatly from that of previous effort “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long,” which garnered about 430,000 debut units amidst a wave of buzz and anticipation.
