“NCIS” Ratings Drop Against “Glee,” “Detroit 1-8-7” Starts Slowly

The monster ratings performance for Tuesday’s “Glee” premiere made a big dent in CBS’ flagship drama “NCIS,” which fell from last year’s opener.

While Tuesday’s “NCIS” remained the most-watched show with 18.9 million viewers, its 3.9 adults 18-49 rating was down from last year’s 4.8 and well below the 5.5 for FOX’s musical comedy.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” followed the CBS veteran with a 3.2 and 14.6 million viewers for its two-hour premiere.

Over on ABC, the 9-10PM portion of “Dancing with the Stars” averaged a strong 4.3 rating with 18.3 million viewers. New series “Detroit 1-8-7” was not notably successful, however, posting only a 2.5 with 9.8 million viewers. As with the underachieving “the forgotten” last season, dramas of the sort simply do not retain the attention of “Dancing” viewers.

NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” premiere was down slightly to a 2.9 with 7.2 million viewers, while 10PM drama “Parenthood” averaged a 2.5 and 5.9 million watchers.
