“American Idol” Books Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez as Judges; Adds Mentor

The new judges for FOX’s “American Idol” were officially confirmed Wednesday, and neither of the picks strayed from the ongoing rumors.

Joining original judge Randy Jackson at the table will be “Aerosmith” frontman Steven Tyler and entertainer Jennifer Lopez. Terms of their deals were not yet revealed, but they will indeed be critiquing hopefuls in the tenth season.

The show will also reportedly be adding music mogul Jimmy Iovine as an in-house mentor for the season. That confirms a rumor that “Idol” wanted to secure a behind-the-scenes executive in addition to its two new “star” judges.
