WWE NXT Season Two Rookies Attack Winner, Spots Botched

In a disorganized attack angle that was something of a take off the initial Nexus invasion, the eliminated WWE NXT season two rookies attacked the winner of the contest in the final moments of the show’s finale Tuesday.

While there was no “tie choke” in this beatdown, there were a number of botched spots that did not come across well on live television. The assault, which saw the eliminated rookies attack winner Kaval before he could get too far into his celebratory promo, featured a number of confusing moments that greatly broke the flow of the angle.

In response to the NXT rookies beating down Kaval, some of the WWE Pros came down to ‘save’ the winner. But confusion quickly ensued–at one point, MVP blatantly stood and watched as Husky Harris dominated Kaval, offering nothing in the way of support (and therefore making the Pros’ presence in the ring seem unnecessary).

In another odd moment, Alex Riley attacked Percy Watson, who had previously joined his fellow NXT rookies in the heel beatdown of Kaval. Later in the attack, Percy and Riley re-aligned, acting as if their in-ring confrontation had never happened. Wires were evidently crossed–Riley was clearly not supposed to perform an offensive manuever on Watson, as the idea here was for the seven “loser” NXT rookies to align against Kaval.

Those in the ring could also be heard blatantly calling some of the spots.
