“Jersey Shore”‘s “The Situation” Reportedly on “Dancing with the Stars”

The media gave detractors of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino multiple reasons to further their dislike for the “Jersey Shore” standout Monday. Following a THR report claiming the reality star will earn an estimated $5 million from his various projects in 2010 comes a claim from OK! Magazine that “Situation” will appear on the next cycle of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

The LA Times Show Tracker blog noted hearing similar claims from insiders, although ABC was unwilling to offer an official announcement on the supposed casting.

Given “Jersey Shore”‘s massive popularity, especially with the coveted 18-49 demographic–it continues to set ratings highs several weeks into its second season–a “DWTS” casting appeared to be a no-brainer. And as “The Situation” has emerged as the show’s most brand-able star, his casting was undoubtedly viewed as the most logical.
