Sources close to both Justin Timberlake and Elton John are denying rumors that the entertainment industry standouts are in talks to replace Simon Cowell on “American Idol.”
Worth noting is the fact that THRFeed, the source of the rumors, never actually said that they were in serious negotiations–only that they were on the “Idol” producers’ short list.
Regarding the Elton John rumors, which have been circulating all summer, publicist Gary Farrow called them “absolute rubbish” to Deadline UK.
A Timberlake insider, meanwhile, told Deadline that the possibility of him judging “Idol” is “silly” due to the clash between his current schedule and the time commitment needed to judge the show.
