Dana White: Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez Title Fight Not at UFC 119

UFC President Dana White confirmed Wednesday morning that the upcoming UFC Heavyweight Championship bout between Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez will not happen at UFC 119.

Speculation in recent days had suggested that UFC wanted to pair Lesnar and Cain on the planned Indianapolis card, for which UFC currently lacks a high-profile main-event, but White has now definitively said that Lesnar will not be fighting on that show.

“Reports that Brock is fighting in Indy Sept. 25 are false,” White confirmed in a message to MMAFighting.com.

Lesnar defeated Shane Carwin via second round submission this Saturday to cement his standing as UFC’s Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. Velasquez, the most raved-about prospect in UFC’s suddenly-stacked heavyweight division, is coming off a Februrary knockout victory over veteran Antonio Rodridgo Nogueira.

  1. Soon its a UFC event again :). We have UFC Fight Night, but UFC 119 is going to be good. We have fights such as Frank mir vs Crocop. They are going to be good and I have a prediction that Frank Mir are going to win their fights.
