WWE Dreams of Betty White, Kobe, “Jersey Shore” Cast Hosting RAW

In an article celebrating one year of featuring guest hosts on WWE RAW, WWE.com reveals some of the company’s “dream” guest hosts.

While the article might seem destined for an exaggerated comedy attempt–and one of the “wishes” is indeed an attempt at a joke–several of the names have come up in internal WWE discussions and are definitely on the radar.

Whether or not they will happen, however, remains to be seen. Nonetheless, WWE’s list (with relevant WWE.com comments) includes:

Betty White – “White probably wouldn’t hit the ring and compete – although she’s certainly welcome to – but the successful celeb could probably teach our titleholders a few things about staying golden.”

Cast of “Jersey Shore” – “Now that they’ve hit the big time, fist-pumping their way into a second season, what better way to celebrate their newfound fame than by hosting Raw, live from the Garden State? Hey, it might be the only time the WWE Universe gets to see a Spray Tan-on-a-Pole Match or a Blowout Battle Royal (unless Zack Ryder steps up as host first).”

Kobe Bryant – “Bryant is no stranger to championship gold in his own sport, and it would be interesting to see if his hoop skills translate from the hardwood to the squared circle.”

Robert Downey, Jr. – “Since he seems like the type of guy who wants to be where the action is – both in real life and as billionaire industrialist-turned-superhero Tony Stark – Downey would have a blast taking control of Monday Night Raw. A WWE Iron Man Match with “Iron Man” as special guest referee has a certain ring to it, no?”

The Muppets – “When The Muppet Show debuted in 1976, audiences were introduced to a wild group of furred and feathered performers who invited a celebrity guest host to share in the festivities each week. This should sound pretty familiar to the WWE Universe (minus the fur, though Goldust’s robe is feathery enough). Notorious Muppet hecklers Statler and Waldorf would feel right at home behind the announce table, while Kermit the Frog could join Hornswoggle in a stirring duet rendition of “It’s Not Easy Being Green.”
