Details on the appearance were not revealed, but Gervais will be showing up in the eighth episode of the season, according to a report on Variety.

Gervais, whose “Extras” aired on HBO prior to the debut of the animated “The Ricky Gervais Show,” could meanwhile end up with an even bigger role at the premium cable channel should it pick up American rights to his BBC pilot “Life’s Too Short.”

Shooting on the eighth season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” begins this summer.
