Reshma Shetty Scores Peak “Royal Pains” Premiere Interest

“Royal Pains,” last year’s summer breakout for USA Network, began its long-awaited second season Thursday, and fans are buzzing intensely about supporting actress Reshma Shetty.

The charismatic Shetty, who plays physician assistant Divya, did not figure any more prominently than usual in the episode’s key storylines, although her charm and looks sent viewers racing to their computers. As of 2AM Friday, Shetty was the tenth most popular term on Google, one place behind “Royal Pains” and the only actor from the show to be in the top twenty (Danny Aiello III, to whom the episode was dedicated, is currently tracking at 15th).

“Royal Pains,” which also stars Mark Feuerstein, Paulo Costanzo and Jill Flint, centers on Hank Lawson (Feuerstein), a successful emergency room surgeon who, after being effectively blacklisted from the New York hospital scene due to a malpractice dispute, serves as a concierge doctor for the wealthy–and not so wealthy–residents of the Hamptons.
