WWE Reveals NXT Season One Winner

In the hourlong season one finale, WWE revealed the winner of its first NXT “competition.”

Following two “Pros Poll” eliminations, WWE narrowed down the field from three to one. The first to leave the competition was Matt Hardy’s Rookie Justin Gabriel. Gabriel’s third-place elimination left Wade Barrett and David Otunga in contention for the season one crown.

At the end of the show, WWE announced that Wade Barrett defeated David Otunga to win the first season of NXT. His Pro was Chris Jericho.

Under the rules of NXT, Wade Barrett will debut on a main roster and receive a shot at one of WWE’s champions on pay-per-view.
