Backstage News, Plans For WWE’s Over the Limit PPV

News and notes for tonight’s WWE Over the Limit pay-per-view courtesy F4WOnline.com:

— WWE initially booked tonight’s John Cena vs. Batista match with the idea that it would be Batista’s last stint before embarking on a hiatus. While that still could be the case, a good percentage of Batista’s colleagues doubt he will make a long-term departure from his lucrative WWE job. Instead of booking a Loser Leaves Town match, WWE stipulated tonight’s match as an I-Quit affair to leave the door open in the event that Batista decides (or has already decided) to stay with the company.

— In a recent update, Bret Hart said, “I also expect to be on Monday Night Raw in Toledo, OH.” He did not confirm plans for an appearance during the Hart Dynasty vs. Chris Jericho & The Miz match tonight.

— WWE continues to look for a breakout black Superstar, and Kofi Kingston will definitely be on WWE management’s radar for his match with Drew McIntyre. Further, because McIntyre is a “chosen one” internally, the pressure will be on Kingston to assure he helps McIntyre come out looking like a star.

— As of earlier this week, WWE was not planning to end the CM Punk-Rey Mysterio feud on tonight’s show.
