Megan Fox Claims She Chose to Leave “Transformers 3,” Sources Disagree

Amid now confirmed reports that Paramount Pictures did not pick up Megan Fox’s option to appear in the upcoming third “Transformers” film, Megan Fox is claiming it was in fact her decision not to return.

“Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3,” the actress’ representatives tell People Magazine. “It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.”

Deadline Hollywood, however, which first broke the story of Megan’s dismissal from the franchise, maintains that Paramount and director Michael Bay decided to drop her from the third film and introduce a new love interest for Shia LaBeouf’s character.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, other studio sources claim that while the decision was not due to Michael Bay’s supposed vendetta against Fox for negative comments she made, it was indeed a creative decision made by the studio. It was not, according to those sources, a matter of Fox quitting.
