Report: NBC Renews “Chuck,” ABC Keeping “V”

The day of major television news continues with reports that NBC and ABC are keeping bubble series “Chuck” and “V,” respectively.

The “Chuck” renewal had long been expected; despite the low ratings, it was the most reliable of the network’s Monday series and had a passionate fan following. NBC’s comedy-drama is expected to receive a thirteen episode order.

Also reportedly receiving a thirteen episode order for next season is ABC’s “V.” Having been a ratings disappointment since its spring return, “V” was at times considered a long shot for renewal. But its ratings growth this week created some sense of stability, and ABC decided to keep the show around.

“V”‘s return is seen as the nail-in-the-coffin for fellow freshman series “FlashForward.” That show now looks to be a goner.
