UFC News: “Ultimate Fighter” Winner Expected to Fight Junior dos Santos

Business is about to pick up for “The Ultimate Fighter” season ten winner Roy Nelson. Fresh off his crushing victory over Stefan Struve, the heavyweight is expected to do battle with rising star Junior dos Santos this summer.

MMAJunkie says that at least one of the two fighters has agreed to the match, which is tentatively slated for UFC 117 in August.

Dos Santos, who has already beaten Mirko Cro Cop, Fabricio Werdum, Gilbert Yvel and Gabriel Gonzaga in his UFC tenture, is considered one of the division’s hottest prospects along with Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez. With Carwin getting a crack at UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar this summer, Dos Santos has apparently been paired with Roy Nelson to remain on the division’s radar.

Nelson, a veteran fighter who has defeated all but the upper echelon of his heavyweight opponents, would establish himself as the real deal should he defeat the heavily-touted Dos Santos.
