Report: TNA Tells Wrestlers iMPACT! Move Was Not Spike TV Decision

Things seemed a little too coincidental. TNA iMPACT! posts a series low rating last Monday, scores a better number for the Thursday encore, and then gets booted back to its original Thursday timeslot. Clearly, it seemed that Spike TV pulled the plug on the Monday night iMPACT! endeavor.

According to ProWrestling.net, TNA wrestlers were told something different. During a staff meeting Monday afternoon, wrestlers and employees were informed that the decision was an internal one made in response to market research (much of which was handled by Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey’s production company) that deemed the Thursday slot more preferable for TNA fans.

A Spike TV official was, nonetheless, on-hand to answer questions and assure wrestlers that the network was behind the new “TNA Thursdays” programming block.
