“American Idol” Eliminates Another On “Idol Gives Back” Special

When “American Idol” first implemented the “Idol Gives Back” charity concept, it shocked the world by not eliminating any contestant during the special, instead removing two from the competition the following week.

That was not the case this year, and “Idol” got down to business as far as results show, bringing the pack down to six. And with this result, “Idol” ended the journey of one of the competition’s most polarizing figures.

It was Tim Urban who was asked to pack his bags–just one week after Simon Cowell declared he transitioned from “zero to hero” after seemingly escaping the comparisons to season six’s detested Sanjaya Malakar.

Urban was not the worst performer Tuesday, but his “Better Days” was unremarkable. And for a polarizing contestant like Urban, memorability–for good or bad reasons–is the key to success.

Casey James and Aaron Kelly joined Urban in the bottom three.
