“Glee: The Power of Madonna” EP to Top Album Sales Chart

Hits Daily Double’s forecasts reveal that “Glee: The Power of Madonna,” the EP soundtrack release to accompany Tueday’s Madonna-themed episode of the musical comedy, will cleanly top next week’s album sales chart.

Based on HDD’s extensions from one-day sales, the “Glee” EP is pacing for about 100-120,000, which should give it the victory over AC/DC’s “Iron Man 2” soundtrack (80-100,000). Though the “Glee” release will likely be down in opening week sales from the last soundtrack–“Volume 2”–the figure is still impressive given the record’s length (seven tracks plus a bonus) and limitation to one artist’s catalog.

Elsewhere, Circa Survive’s “Blue Sky Noise” should be good for about 30-35,000 copies, a figure similar to the forecast for Sevendust’s “Cold Day Memory.”

Jimmy Buffett’s “encores” will also open with 30-35,000, besting the 18-22,000 for Cypress Hill’s “Rise Up.”
