WWE’s RAW Roster Woes Could Continue; Backstage Fear

The UK’s National Air Traffic Service issued a statement Monday evening warning that flights could be delayed beyond Tuesday morning.

A new ash cloud has been moving towards the United Kingdom, and it should prompt an overnight re-evaluation as to whether flights, notably in Northern Ireland, where WWE wrestlers are stranded, can be reopened tomorrow.

“This demonstrates the dynamic and rapidly changing conditions in which we are working,” said the statement. “Latest information … shows that the situation is worsening in some areas. Based on this information, the situation for Northern Irish airports for the morning is uncertain, due to the new ash cloud.”

WWE was hoping to have its RAW crew back in time for Tuesday’s SmackDown! taping, but that situation is now in jeopardy. Obviously, the fear now is related to whether the travel restrictions will endanger Sunday’s Extreme Rules, although there is not yet anything to indicate the roster will have trouble returning by the weekend.
