MGMT, Coheed and Cambria Do Battle With Justin Bieber (Album Sales)

Sales forecasts based on one-day figures reveal that MGMT and Justin Bieber will be competing for the top slot on next week’s album sales chart.

According to Hits Daily Double, Bieber’s holdover sensation “My World 2.0” and MGMT’s debut “Congratulations” should both land in the 70-80,000 range, a fairly low figure, in either case, for a top spot on the album sales chart.

Coheed & Cambria should follow with about 50-55,000 for its “Year of the Black Rainbow,” while Jeff Beck’s “Emotion & Commotion” is pacing for 20-25,000.

Elsewhere, Natalie Merchant’s “Leave Your Sleep” and Jason Castro’s self-titled album should both do just shy of 20,000.
