Update On Talk Of WWE NXT’s Cancellation, SmackDown! News

In a press release issued Tuesday, WWE confirms that SmackDown! will join SyFy on October 1, 2010, resulting in NXT leaving SyFy’s schedule.

As of press time, however, WWE was not operating as if the NXT series would be completely ending come October. According to various reports, WWE will be shopping NXT to other networks with the hope of securing a new cable broadcast partner for the series.

A new episode of WWE NXT airs Tuesday night; last week’s show posted a series-low among adults 18-49.
