Rumors on Charlie Sheen Possibly Leaving “Two and a Half Men”

People Magazine broke a rumor Thursday claiming Charlie Sheen is considering leaving CBS’ hit comedy “Two and a Half Men.”

According to sources, Sheen has said that he is tired of his work on the show and “wants to move on.”

“Charlie’s just done,” said the People source. “And he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.”

Those who do not believe this is a mere April Fools joke believe Sheen’s sentiment is simply a public attempt to negotiate for a better contract. Though “Men” is picked up through a ninth season, Sheen’s deal currently expires at the end of the current season, its seventh.

TMZ additionally noted that sources from the show are “laughing” at reports that Sheen might leave.

Said the TMZ source, “This deal will be made at midnight on the day CBS announces its new fall schedule. Everyone plays the brinksmanship game.”

According to TMZ, Sheen wants his current fee of $825,000 an episode to be raised to $1.5 million an episode through the 2011-12 season. Producing studio WB’s offer is reportedly $1 million per segment.

Neither CBS nor WB have commented on the story.
