More On Shawn Michaels’ Future, Jim Ross’ WM26 Absence

March 29, 2010
By Brian Cantor

– The word going around is that Vince McMahon directly made the decision to keep Jim Ross out of the commentary booth for WWE WrestleMania 26. Little substantial was discussed regarding the motivations and implications, although his absence in general was one of the big talking points throughout the weekend.

– Though Shawn Michaels maintains that he is done wrestling, reports say he might still end up making appearances down the road, possibly in a capacity similar to that of Steve Austin. Of course, for as sincere as Michaels reportedly is when discussing his retirement, there is definitely a portion of the industry that doubts whether he will be able to truly say no to ever wrestling again.

I truly believe Shawn is done. During his speech tonight on Raw when he said that he did not want to back on his word that he gave the Undertaker and the fans was, what I believe, to be a shot at Ric Flair and Flair turning his back on the sendoff he received when he retired. Also, the part about not wanting to work for anyone but vince was directed at Dixie Carter as a way of saying “Don’t even bother trying”. Now, let’s just see if he truly is a man of word but he appeared to be truly sincere and spoke from the heart.

You will be missed HBK but never forgotten.
