Ultimate Warrior Responds To WWE Hall of Fame Rumors

In a blog entry posted Thursday, Ultimate Warrior disputed rumors that he backed out of an agreement to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this Saturday night.

“I did decline induction. Yes, I declined,” wrote Warrior. “I did not ‘back out’ of anything. There was never anything to “back out” of. I never agreed to appear at the Hall of Fame to begin with. The rumor that I did is a lie; an easy one that fits the kooky, fictional groundwork the liars have been laying down for years. It sounded good, made me look bad, so they added it on.”

Earlier this year, reports emerged that Warrior backed out of the planned appearance due to a money issue. The wrestler disputes that claim, however, noting that he never agreed to any induction and, in fact, had no idea WWE even paid inductees.

He instead explained his decision to decline as follows: “Vince called me on December 23rd and left a voicemail saying, among other things, “let’s get you in the Hall of Fame where you belong.” After the holidays I returned his call, left a voicemail telling him to call me again when he found time. When we finally connected, I told him I would rather meet with him in person than talk over the phone. He said that would be great. He said he would find time on his calendar and call me back to set it up. When he called back a couple of weeks later he didn’t even mention finding a time scheduled to meet, and throughout the remainder of the conversation, further decided not to find one. So, given only the option to say either yes or no, my answer was quick and clear, I declined Vince’s invitation to headline this year’s HOF event.”

Warrior also shot on WWE’s infamous “Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior” DVD, explaining that if everything on the DVD were accurate, WWE would not possibly want him in the Hall of Fame.

Wrote Warrior, “Vince personally inviting me to be the headliner inductee to his Hall of Fame means either the DVD or his Hall of Fame is a joke. One is not credible. It’s inarguable.”

  1. i agree with warrior here why should he accept when wwe basically made a dvd making a complete fool out of him

  2. Warrior is a living legend in the ring. Although at the time when I was a kid i didnt now what the F**K he was saying half the, it all sounded bada** to me!! I thyink he should except the honour, Go up to the microphone and tell Vince Mcmanon and the WWE and the pussies in that DVD to go F**K them Selfs!! Then after that play his song and go wild in the ring shaking the ropes….Epic.

  3. hold on, the DVD – I dont think is that bad..it looks at both sides – in fact Vince is seen prasing the Warrior in some sections – even the Hulkster says good things!! Its not all bad – some like HHH and the Brain dont have a good word..but it could of been a lot worse!

  4. I didn’t watch the DVD yet
All what I can say about UW

That if you get hit from the back, thin you are at the lead

I wish who attacks the warrior did step in front of him in the ring and said there views

But Ultimately they didn’t want to get destroyed 🙂

  5. The WWE Hall of Fame is a bit of a joke. Koko B. Ware is in there for God’s sake, while Randy Savage, Warrior etc aren’t! As great as it would be to see the Warrior back and being honored rather than slandered for once, he is right… how can Vince release the DVD basically making out that Warrior’s wrestling career and achievements were a joke and that he was basically given everything he achieved by Vince, and then ask him to HEADLINE the HoF!? Vince and arrogant two-faced pricks like Hogan are most likely pissed and jealous that Warrior actually made a successful life and family for himself away from WWE, and that he doesn’t need to beg to come back and kiss Vince’s ass like the rest do! Didn’t Hogan come close to committing suicide a few years ago!? Is why I have lost a little respect for Bret Hart for his very lame and brief return last year – it was embarrisingly cringeworthy and did nothing for his legacy! Hogan says Warrior was bad in the ring – Hogan himself had no real in-ring talent, though was a great entertainer, as was Warrior (though UW was superior!) Hogan had just the same tired routine – hulking up, leg drop, pin and then his ego routine which went on for hours. Maybe Hogan couldn’t handle that Warrior, or anyone, was just as, if not more over than he was – take Savage for example, Hogan always tried to overshadow his title wins and get the attention back on him! It would be great to see the WWE actually honoring deserving wrestlers in the HoF like Warrior and Savage, but I think someone as shite and a joke as Doink will be inducted before we ever see either, even though both UW and Savage are visible on WWE’s website and TV intros etc now, and NOT Hogan!

  6. I grew up idolizing the warrior, I remember pitching in my weekend allowance with my friends to see the warrior wrestle on PPV. Especially the match when the warrior made his comeback against triple H. My point is this, despite the dvd they made about the UW, my childhood friends till this day watch wwe and we ALL AGREE that UW should take his spot in the wwe HOF and then tell the WWE to F**k off

  7. dont really care for the comments on the dvd how ever a true warrior fan doesnt care a fan is a fan. to me you were the best warrior. i say show up accept the damn ring and then kick ass like you have always have. go wild and explode on them. take it to the man and be the man. warrior come back and show the newbees how its done.
